This Privacy Policy explains how Wick (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the iOS application Wick. Wick is designed to be local-first: your habits and journal live on your device.
1Who we are
Wick is published by NoorLyfe (bundle ID com.noorlyfe.wick). For privacy requests, contact NoorLyfe at contact@noorlyfe.com.
2What Wick stores on your device
Wick stores on your iPhone (via Apple’s local storage technologies such as SwiftData / local database and UserDefaults, including an App Group shared with the optional Home Screen widget):
- Habit names, details, icons, colors, ritual windows, weekly targets, timed light duration, sort order, archive state
- Check-ins, optional mood (flame feel), notes, streak freezes, planned rest weekdays, reminder times
- App preferences (appearance, haptics, celebration, focus ritual, Face ID lock toggle, onboarding completion, Pro unlock flag mirrored locally after Apple confirms purchase)
This information is not uploaded by Wick to our own servers. We do not operate a Wick account system or Wick cloud backend for habit data.
3What we do not collect
Wick does not collect, sell, rent, or share for cross-context behavioral advertising:
- Name, email, phone, postal address, or government ID
- Precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data
- Advertising identifiers for our own ads (Wick shows no ads)
- Analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or trackers embedded by us
- Social graph or browsing history outside the App
4Apple services (third parties)
Certain processing is performed by Apple, under Apple’s terms and privacy policy, not by a Wick server:
- App Store / StoreKit: purchase of Wick Pro (auto-renewable subscription, and any legacy lifetime unlock). Apple processes payment, receipt, renewals, and restore. We only learn locally whether Pro is unlocked.
- Optional Face ID / Touch ID / device passcode: used only on device to unlock the App if you enable App Lock. Biometric templates stay in the Secure Enclave; Wick never receives your face or fingerprint data.
- Optional local notifications: scheduled on device for habit reminders you configure. Wick does not send push notifications from a server.
- WidgetKit / App Group: habit summary may be shown on your Home Screen widget using on-device shared storage.
See Apple’s Privacy Policy: apple.com/privacy
5Children (COPPA and similar)
Wick is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through a Wick-related channel outside the device store, contact us at contact@noorlyfe.com and we will delete what we control.
6European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR / FADP)
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland:
- Controller: NoorLyfe (contact@noorlyfe.com).
- Legal bases: (a) performance of a contract / requested service for on-device habit tracking you initiate; (b) legitimate interests for securing the App (optional lock) and fraud prevention around purchases via Apple; (c) consent where required for optional notifications (you can deny or revoke in iOS Settings).
- Categories of data: see Section 2 (device-stored) and Section 4 (Apple).
- Retention: habit data remains until you delete the App or clear App data; purchase status follows Apple’s records.
- Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdraw consent (where processing is consent-based). Because habit data is on your device, the primary way to erase it is to delete the App or edit/archive habits in Settings. For purchase questions, contact Apple Support as well.
- International transfers: Wick does not transfer your habit journal to our servers. Apple may process App Store data per Apple’s disclosures.
- Supervisory authority: you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example the Danish Datatilsynet, your EU member state DPA, the UK ICO, or the Swiss FDPIC).
- No automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects is performed by Wick.
7Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA / Law 25), Japan (APPI), Australia (Privacy Act), and other regions
Wick’s local-first design means personal habit content is not harvested into a Wick cloud profile. Where these laws grant rights of access, correction, deletion, or complaint, you can exercise them by managing or deleting data in the App / deleting the App, and by contacting us at contact@noorlyfe.com for anything we control outside the device. We do not sell personal information.
8United States — federal and state privacy laws
Wick does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under laws such as (non-exhaustive):
- California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by CPRA (CCPA/CPRA), including rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/share; Wick does not sell or share as those terms are defined for advertising
- Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA)
- Colorado Privacy Act (CPA)
- Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA)
- Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA)
- Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA)
- Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCPA)
- Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act (MCDPA)
- Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island, Delaware, Iowa, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Nebraska, and other comprehensive state privacy laws as they become effective
- Washington My Health My Data Act and similar sensitive-data laws: Wick is a general habit tracker, not a covered consumer health data marketplace; do not use Wick as a medical record
- Nevada SB 220 (do not sell)
Because habit data stays on your device, “access” and “deletion” are primarily exercised on device. If a state law applies to residual information we hold (for example a support email you send us), contact us at contact@noorlyfe.com and we will respond within the timelines those laws require where applicable. We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
California “Notice at Collection”: we collect the categories in Section 2 only on your device for the business purpose of providing the App. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under CPRA for the purpose of inferring characteristics, beyond optional Face ID unlock handled by Apple on device.
9Sensitive information
Do not store medical diagnoses, passwords, financial account numbers, or illegal content in habit notes. Notes are stored locally on your device and are your responsibility.
10Security
We rely on iOS sandboxing, optional device authentication (Face ID / Touch ID / passcode), and Apple’s purchase infrastructure. No method of storage is perfectly secure. You are responsible for your device passcode and backups (including iCloud device backup if you enable it in iOS — that is Apple’s service, not a Wick server upload initiated by us).
11Retention and deletion
Delete habits in Settings, or delete the App to remove local Wick data from the device. Widget data in the App Group is removed when the App is deleted. Apple may retain purchase records according to Apple’s policies.
12Third-party links
Legal links may open Apple’s websites (for example the Standard EULA). Those sites are governed by Apple’s policies.
13Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be reflected in the App’s Privacy Policy screen. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy where permitted by law.
