This policy describes how Ansøgningskompas processes personal data when you use the website or app to generate a job application.

Who may use the service?
The service is intended for adult job seekers. If you are under 16, you must have consent from a parent or guardian before submitting personal data; the service is not directed at minors.
Purpose and legal basis
We process data to provide the service: generating a draft application based on the CV and job context you submit, and to process payment via the App Store or Google Play.
Processing is based on GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) (necessary for the performance of a contract), and where relevant Art. 6(1)(a) (consent, e.g. when you actively choose to upload a CV) and Art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests, e.g. preventing misuse and technical operations).
What data is processed?
CV as PDF: The file is sent to the server during generation. Text is temporarily extracted to create the application draft.
Job context: E.g. job title, company name, link or text from a job posting, your notes — whatever you submit.
Payment-related: Purchases are verified by Apple or Google. We receive technical proof of purchase (receipt/token) to the extent required to confirm that generation may be delivered.
Technical operations: As with all hosting, logging (e.g. errors, traffic) may occur at the infrastructure provider — not a personal database in the app.
Do we store your data on the server?
Ansøgningskompas is built without a traditional user database. Your CV and form fields are not stored as files on the server between steps; they are sent together with a valid proof of purchase in a single technical call when generation is performed. Processing occurs in memory during the request and is released afterwards.
The generated text is displayed to you in the app; it is your responsibility to save or copy what you need on your own device.
Operations and error logs (without application content)
To investigate whether an error originates from the service, we write structured event logs: timestamp, anonymous reference ID, which technical step failed, and HTTP status. If something goes wrong, you may be shown a reference ID for support — it links only to the technical event.
These logs do not contain your application text, CV, job titles, company names, or free-text form input.
Third parties
Anthropic (Claude): For text generation, extracted CV text and job context are sent to Anthropic (based in the USA). Their processing is subject to their own terms and privacy policy: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, this is done in accordance with applicable rules for international transfers (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
Apple App Store / Google Play: Handle payment and receipts under their own terms.
Job link (optional): If you provide a URL, the server may temporarily fetch public page content to support your application — without storing a separate copy for later use.
Data on your device
During use, data may be briefly stored or displayed on your own device (e.g. while filling in the form or viewing the result in the same session). This is not a cloud backup of your application draft.
Retention
We have no user login or profile where applications are archived. Server-side storage is limited to what follows from normal operations and legal obligations (e.g. accounting records related to purchases — which primarily reside with the app store).
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, as well as the right to object where applicable. You may lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).
Direct requests to the data controller contact above. If processing by a third party is independent (e.g. solely by Apple), you should also be able to contact them directly under their procedures.
Changes
We may update this policy when the service changes. The date of the latest version appears at the top of this page.
